The Smuggling Of 51 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine In Malaysia Was Thwarted In South Kalimantan, 2 Perpetrators Of The Affiliated Fredy Pratama

The Directorate of Drug Investigation of the South Kalimantan Police (Ditresnarkoba Polda Kalsel) revealed the smuggling of 51,995 grams or approximately 51 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from Malaysia from an international network affiliated with narcotics kingpin Fredy Pratama.

"Two perpetrators with the initials AS and MR who were carrying drugs were arrested in the courtyard of the Pesona Hotel Banjarmasin on Thursday (11 September)," said South Kalimantan Police Narcotics Director Kombes Pol Baktiar Joko Mujiono in Banjarbaru, Tuesday, confiscated by Antara.

In addition to the 48 large packages of methamphetamine packaged, officers also confiscated nine packages of orange M logo ecstasy with a total of 45,231 pills weighing 18,794.81 grams.

Then, two packages of ecstasy, the pink cat's leg logo, totaling 9,927 pills, a net weight of 4,169.34 grams and a package of pink ecstasy flakes, were 104.43 grams clean.

Baktiar, who was accompanied by the Head of Public Relations, Kombes Pol. Adam Erwindi and the Head of Propam, Kombes Pol. Hery Purnomo, said that the disclosure of large amounts of drug smuggling began with public information.

The team led by the Head of Sub-Directorate 3 of the Narcotics Directorate of the South Kalimantan Police, AKBP Ade Harri Sistiawan, then conducted an investigation into collecting network data that had been mapped.

As a result, two couriers from Bojonegoro and Lamongan, East Java were detected arriving in Banjarmasin and immediately ambushed by officers when they arrived at the hotel where they were staying.

Based on the confessions of the two, the drug from Malaysia was brought from Pontianak, West Kalimantan on a land trip to Banjarmasin.

"The plan is for some of these drugs to be brought back to a number of areas, so South Kalimantan is their crossing place as well as marketing," he explained representing the South Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan.

Baktiar stated that the drugs that had been confiscated had saved 301,717 people from their abuse if they circulated to the public.

Assuming each one gram of crystal methamphetamine can be used by five people and one ecstasy item is consumed by one person.
