Former Treasurer Of West Aceh BPKD Proven To Be Regional Tax Corruption Imprisoned For 2 Years In Meulaboh Prison

JAKARTA - The West Aceh District Attorney (Kejari) detained CN, a former treasurer of the West Aceh Regional Financial Management Agency (BPKD) to the Meulaboh Class II Penitentiary, Aceh because he was proven to have committed a criminal act of corruption of more than Rp. 500 million.

"We have placed the defendant CN in Meulaboh Prison according to the court's decision because it was proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption as charged in the subsidiary indictment," said Head of the Intelligence Section of the West Aceh District Attorney, Ahmad Lutfi in Meulaboh, Tuesday, confiscated by Antara.

As previously reported, the panel of judges at the Corruption Court at the Banda Aceh District Court sentenced defendant CN to a criminal case of corruption in regional taxes in the West Aceh Regency Government with a sentence of two years in prison.

The verdict was read out by the panel of judges chaired by M Jamil during a trial at the Corruption Court at the Banda Aceh District Court in Banda Aceh, Friday, August 8, 2025.

The defendant CN as the treasurer of acceptance at the Regional Financial Management Agency (BPKD) of West Aceh Regency.

Ahmad Lutfi said that apart from imprisonment, the panel of judges also sentenced the defendant to pay a fine of Rp. 100 million with a subsidiary or a substitute sentence if he did not pay six months in prison.

The panel of judges also sentenced the defendant to an additional sentence in the form of paying compensation for state losses of Rp.465.6 million. If the defendant does not pay, he will be sentenced to one year and six months in prison.

The panel of judges stated that the defendant CN was found guilty of violating Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 Paragraph (1) letters a, b, and d of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended into Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption.

Based on the facts at the trial, the defendant as treasurer received a local tax deposit in cash from 2022 to 2023. The taxes come from village government deposits, restaurant taxes, and others.

"The defendant did not deposit the tax money deposited into the regional treasury. The tax money was used by the defendant for personal gain," said Ahmad Lutfi.

The verdict is lighter than the public prosecutor's demand.

At the previous trial, Public Prosecutor Andriansyah from the West Aceh District Attorney charged the defendant CN with three years in prison.

"The defendant Cut Nurmaliah stated that he accepted the judge's decision, and now we have placed the defendant in Meulaboh Prison to serve his sentence according to the court's decision," said Ahmad Lutfi.
