JAKARTA - Commissioner General of the United Nations Aid and Work Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini announced Israel had attacked 10 UNRWA buildings in Gaza City, including seven schools and two clinics that currently serve as shelters for thousands of refugees in the past four days.
In recent days, Israel has started a campaign for the gradual destruction of tall buildings in Gaza City, forcing more families to flee in harsh and dire conditions.
"We were forced to stop health services in the al-Shati refugee camp, the only one available north of Wadi Gaza, while vital water and sanitation services are now operating only half capacity," he tweeted on social media X, quoted from WAFA Sept. 15.
"In the last four days alone, 10 UNRWA buildings have been targeted in Gaza City," he said, calling for an immediate ceasefire.
Human rights organizations warned that the goal of the Israeli attack was to forcibly move residents to the south, as part of Israel-American's broader plans to move them outside the Gaza Strip.

Lazzarini added that in uploads to the organization's X account, there is no place and no one is safe in Gaza City and its northern region, where airstrike intensity increases, forcing more Palestinians to flee to unknown places.
