The Ministry Of Social Affairs Strikes Hundreds Of Social Assistance Recipients In West Aceh Indicated Online Gambling

MEULABOH - Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) crossed out hundreds of recipients of social assistance (bansos) for the Family Hope Program (PKH) and basic food assistance in West Aceh Regency, because the recipients of the assistance were indicated as perpetrators of online gambling (judol).

"There are more than 100 beneficiary families (KPM) of PKH social assistance and basic necessities in West Aceh, who are currently no longer receiving cash assistance from the government because they are indicated to be playing online gambling," said the PKH Regency Coordinator of West Aceh Regency, Mawardi, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, September 15.

He said that the recipients of the PKH social assistance and basic necessities in West Aceh Regency are no longer receiving assistance from the government, starting in the third stage, namely July, August and September 2025.

The amount of assistance received by each KPM in West Aceh Regency varies from Rp600 thousand to Rp1.7 million more per stage for three months.

The number of recipients of PKH social assistance in West Aceh Regency recorded until July 2025 reached 12,015 beneficiary families or KPM, and for recipients of basic food social assistance, there were 16,000 KPM.

Mawardi said the decision was the decision of the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, which also collaborated with PPATK to trace recipients of social assistance who had been indicated to use online gambling.

"According to the delivery of social ministers throughout Indonesia, there are 600 thousand social assistance recipients who are indicated to be playing online gambling, for West Aceh there are more than a hundred who are currently no longer receiving assistance from the government," he said.

Although his party did not specifically calculate the number of social assistance recipients in West Aceh who are no longer receiving assistance from the government, his party continues to receive reports from KPM who admit that they no longer receive assistance at this third stage.

He also appealed to the recipients of the assistance, to be able to use financial assistance that has been received from the government according to the designation and use.

The public is advised not to use aid money from the government to be used as online gambling capital, because this action violates the applicable regulations, said Mawardi.
