The Leadership Of The DPR Confirms That He Has Not Received The Surpres For The Replacement Of The National Police Chief From The Palace

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad denied reports that the Palace had sent a presidential letter (Surpres) regarding the replacement of the Chief of Police of the Republic of Indonesia or the National Police to the Indonesian Parliament.

"Not yet," Dasco said when confirmed by reporters, Saturday, September 13.

Dasco reiterated that until now, the leadership of the DPR RI has not received a Surpres regarding the replacement of the National Police Chief from President Prabowo Subianto.

"The leadership of the DPR has not yet received the Surpres regarding the change of the National Police Chief," he said.

Previously, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that the change of the National Police Chief was the prerogative of President Prabowo Subianto.

This was conveyed by Listyo in response to the push to withdraw after the incident of crossing an ojol driver, Affan Kurniawan by Rantis Brimob during the chaos of last August's final demonstration.

"Regarding the issue related to the National Police Chief, it is the prerogative of the president. We soldiers are ready at any time," said the National Police Chief during a press conference in the Hambalang area, Bogor, West Java, Saturday, August 30.

As is known, Listyo has served as the National Police Chief since President Joko Widodo's administration, precisely since 2021.
