Puslabfor Ensures Explosion In Pamulang Comes From Gas Cylinders

JAKARTA - The National Police's Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor) stated that the explosion in Pondok Cabe Ilir settlement, Pamulang District, South Tangerang City (Tangsel), Banten, early Friday morning, was thought to have come from gas cylinders measuring 12 and five kilograms (kg).

"There is a gas cylinder of 12 kilograms of one, then three gas cylinders for five kilograms," said Head of Sub-Directorate for Metalurgi Forensic Puslabfor Polri, Kompol Heryandi, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 12.

The investigative team also obtained other evidence such as a gas regulator hose and a gas stove at the site of the explosion.

"There is a regulator hose and one gas stove, then there are materials that have been burned," he said.

However, the National Police's Puslabfor team is currently continuing to carry out further investigations to determine the cause of the incident.

The police are currently examining the evidence as the basis for the forensic research process.

"There are four pieces of evidence, from gas to hoses and stoves that we are investigating and conducting inspections. For the time being, that's all," said Heryandi.

Previously, the Bomb Disposal Team from the Mobile Brigade Unit (Brimob) of the Polda Metro Jaya, was involved in the investigation process at the location of the explosion.

They stated that no bombs were found as the cause of the explosion.

Based on the results of the investigation by Brimob members by combing around the location affected by the loud explosion, no other explosives were found for the incident.

During the search at the location, the Gegana Brimob Unit deployed two bomb and chemical disposal units, biology and active radio.

Previously, the South Tangerang Police Chief, AKBP Victor Inkiriwang reported that seven people were victims of a mysterious explosion in the residential area of RT/RW 03/01, Pondok Cabe Ilir Village, Pamulang District in the early hours of Friday and had been treated at the nearest hospital (RS).

"Three victims who are currently being treated at the hospital, then four other victims have been treated and are currently allowed to be treated by the hospital team doctor," he said.

Of the total seven victims as a result of the mysterious explosion, three of them suffered serious injuries and had been treated intensively by a team of doctors and four others suffered minor injuries.

Then, the impact of the incident also resulted in as many as eight housing units in the area being heavily damaged and lightly.

Victor said that of the eight damaged houses, four were heavily damaged and four were lightly damaged.

The incident occurred from 05.15 WIB to 05.30 WIB in the morning. The explosion was quite large because the radius was about 500 meters.
