Unsuitable Classroom, 244 Students Of SDN Palamakan 01 Serang Survive With Shift System

SERANG - The condition of the heavily damaged classroom and limited number at SDN Palamakan 01, Serang Regency, Banten, forced 244 students to take turns attending teaching and learning activities (KBM) in morning and afternoon sessions.

The head of SDN Palamakan 01 Robi'atus Sa'adiyah said, from the need for six study groups (rombel), his school only had three classrooms. Two of them are in inadequate condition.

Two other classrooms were badly damaged. I have reported this condition to the Education Office since I took office in July 2023, but until now there has been no realization of development," he said in Serang, Antara, Friday, September 12.

Robi'atus explained that the limited space was a direct impact of the damage to buildings that had not been repaired for a long time. The curved and leaking roofs at many points pose a serious threat to student safety, especially when it rains.

Due to this condition, the school has no choice but to implement an alternating learning system to ensure all students can still take lessons, even with a limited time.

Previously, we even had time to hold KBM on the school terrace. Various ways have been taken so that the learning process continues," he said.

This issue became the spotlight after a video recording the panic of students in the middle of a class leaked during heavy rains on Tuesday (10/9/2025) went viral on social media.

Robi'atus hopes that public attention can encourage the government to act immediately and build new classrooms that are feasible and safe for students.

"We hope that the local government will immediately improve schools and add rombel so that the learning process can run more properly and comfortably," said Robi'atus.
