DI Panjaitan Road Narrowed Due to Water Channel Excavation Project

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Transportation Agency will implement road narrowing on Jalan DI Panjaitan in East Jakarta. This is in connection with the construction of a jacking channel and crossing.

Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, revealed that traffic engineering on Jalan DI Panjaitan will be implemented from September 2025 to February 2026.

"During the work, there will be a reduction or narrowing of the road," Syafrin told reporters on Friday, September 12.

To be more precise, the jacking channel work will be located on Jalan DI Panjaitan, from beside the Cawang underpass to the Kalimalang intersection towards Tanjung Priok. The crossing channel will be in front of the Water Resources Investigation, Testing, and Measurement Management Unit.

To optimize lane consistency during the work and mitigate the impacts, the Jakarta Transportation Agency will dismantle approximately 150 meters of Transjakarta buses.

"This will allow Transjakarta buses to become mixed traffic and be reinstalled after the work is completed," Syafrin said.

The U-turn (south-south) in front of the Patria Park building was also closed, and traffic was diverted through the Cawang/Halim Baru underpass.

The U-turn (north-north) in front of the Brantas Building was also closed, and traffic was diverted to a right turn onto Jalan Laksamana Malahayati and a U-turn in front of Ciplak Market.

Syafrin revealed that PT Jaya Konstruksi, as the implementing agency, is fully responsible for the safety and security of road users at the construction site.

"Road users are advised to avoid these roads and to comply with established traffic regulations, obey traffic signs, instructions from officers in the field, and prioritize road safety," he explained.
