Father And Mother Of Tiri In East Kutai Become Suspects Of Persecution Of 8-Year-Old Boy To Death

EAST KUTAI - A heartbreaking case occurred in East Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan. An 8-year-old boy, with the initials MA, died as a result of abuse by his biological father, SW, and his stepmother, EP.

From the results of the examination, EP often tortured the victim using various household objects, ranging from the handles of the broom, iron clothes hangers, to hitting the victim's head against the washing machine twice. Ironically, SW who was supposed to protect his son actually persecuted him for fear of EP.

East Kutai Police Chief AKBP Fauzan Arianto revealed that the main motive for the persecution was triggered by the assumption that EP was naughty and did not want to obey advice. In addition, victims often become an outlet when EP clashes with SW.

"The reason the suspect committed violence is because the victim was considered naughty and difficult to maintain. When discussing with her husband, the suspect also vented his emotions on the victim," explained Fauzan, Wednesday, September 10.

SW had tried to advise EP because the victim's body was full of bruises. However, EP refused and asked her husband not to interfere, arguing that his actions were to educate children to obey.

Even so, this reason clearly cannot be justified. The violence that was carried out resulted in the victim's death.

The two suspects are now charged with Law (UU) Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection. They face up to 15 years in prison for the cruel act that killed the innocent boy.
