Quick Transition, Abdul Kadir Karding Is Considered Successfully Preparing KP2MI, New Minister Ready To Release Landas

JAKARTA - Minister of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) Mukhtarudin expressed his appreciation to his predecessor, Abdul Kadir Karding, who he considered successful in consolidating KP2MI as a new ministry in less than a year.

"What Mr. Karding and his entire team have put, because KP2MI has just become a ministry, and currently the structure, the organization is good, ready to take off, I thank you," said Mukhtarudin in his remarks at the handover ceremony and KP2MI said goodbye with Abdul Kadir Karding in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday night.

According to Mukhtarudin, the transition from the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP2MI) to the ministry is a complicated process, especially in forming new work units and adjusting the coordination line.

He assessed that Karding had succeeded in preparing KP2MI so that it could run according to the ministry's standards in just 10 months. This made it easier for him to start serving as the new Minister of P2MI.

"I again would like to thank Pak Karding and his entire team for setting the foundation so that it will ease my duties in the future as a minister in building this ministry in accordance with the expectations of the community," he said.

Mukhtarudin hopes that KP2MI can continue to meet the expectations of Indonesian migrant workers and bring great benefits to the country. He also expressed his gratitude to President Prabowo Subianto for the mandate given.

As an assistant to the president, he emphasized his determination to work in accordance with President Prabowo's policy lines in Astacita, as well as being committed to communicating with Karding to get input in fighting for PMI protection.

Mukhtarudin was previously a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the constituency of Central Kalimantan as well as Secretary of the Golkar Party faction. He was inaugurated as Minister of P2MI on Monday, September 8 with Purbaya Yudhi Sadives as Minister of Finance, Ferry Joko Juliantono as Minister of Cooperatives, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf Hasyim as Minister of Hajj and Umrah, and Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak as Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah.
