Had Caught During A Tire Factory Fire In Konsel: 4 People Survived, 1 Died

KENDARI - Polsek Sector Police (Polsek) Konda said that one victim died as a result of a fire from a used tire factory in Lebo Jaya Village, Konda District, South Konawe Regency (Konsel), Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra).

Head of Konda Police Iptu Ribka Diana Linsai Siwi said the fire incident was first received information that occurred at around 08.59 WITA.

"After learning earlier, we immediately contacted the fire department from the Brimob Unit of the Southeast Sulawesi Police, the aid came from Brimob two cars and the Kendari City fire department, from South Konawe Regency," said Ribka Diana when met in Konsel, Antara, Tuesday, September 9.

In that incident, he continued, five people were trapped in the factory, four of whom managed to survive and get out of the factory, while one person died because he was trapped inside.

"The victim is still inside because the crime scene has not been sterile. So the Inafis team has not been able to secure the victim," he said.

Ribka Diana explained that until now her party also did not know the cause of the fire incident. Police officers from the Konda Police are also still waiting for information from employees who managed to survive the incident.

"We are still waiting for information from the employees inside, who survived," he said.

Based on ANTARA's monitoring, the 2.5 hectare used tire factory in the Lebo Jaya Village area, Konda District, Konsel Regency, first exploded, causing local residents to be shocked and panicked.

Due to the explosion, residents immediately contacted police officers and firefighters. The thick smoke clumping was clearly rising high in the Lebo Jaya Village area.

The fire was successfully extinguished by assistance from two water cannon cars belonging to the SatBrimob Polda Sultra, the Kendari City Fire Department and South Konawe Regency.

Until now, people have arrived at the scene of the fire, seeing firsthand the used tire factory that caught fire.
