The Cause Of The 4 Hectare Land Fire In Semarang Is Still Being Investigated

JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) said that the cause of the four-hectare mineral land fire in Candirejo Village, Pringapus District, Semarang Regency, Central Java (Central Java), is still under investigation.

Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari explained that the land fire was confirmed to have occurred on Saturday (6/9) and then the fire was extinguished by a joint team of officers on Sunday (7/9).

"The joint team carried out the ground extinguishing until the fire was extinguished," said Abdul Muhari as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 8.

Based on the information received by BNPB, until now it is not certain the cause of the fire in the dry land area, which is currently still under investigation by the relevant authorities to determine the trigger factor.

According to him, the dry season accompanied by dry land conditions can increase the potential for fires to occur, so the BNPB urges the local community to immediately report if they find hotspots to the authorities so that they can be immediately controlled.

"People are also asked not to burn garbage or throw cigarette butts in dry land areas to prevent fires from occurring," he said.

BNPB in its coordination function will assist the government through the local BPBD to continue to monitor developments and ensure the potential for fires can be prevented from an early age.
