Coordinating Minister Yusril Asks DPR To Immediately Revise The Asset Confiscation Bill Draft, Ensure The Government Is Ready To Discuss

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections, Yusril Ihza asked the House of Representatives (DPR) to immediately complete the process of revising the draft law (RUU) on Asset Confiscation that has been prepared by the government.

This is because the government is ready to discuss the bill and hand it over to President Prabowo Subianto.

"We are ready to discuss the bill, depending on the President who will be appointed, which Minister will be appointed to represent the President in discussing the Bill on Asset Confiscation," Yusril told reporters, Monday, September 8.

"We invite the DPR to immediately revise or add it, it's up to the DPR," he continued.

Yusril said that the asset Confiscation Bill had actually been submitted to President Joko Widodo's government in 2023 to be exact.

Several ministers called Yusril have been appointed as representatives. However, the discussion process did not work.

"In the President's letter, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mr. Mahfud and Minister Mr. Yasonna Laoly Menkumham, as well as one other minister, to represent the President in discussing this bill. It's just that until now the bill has not been discussed by the DPR," Yusril explained.

Therefore, Yusril said that the Coordinating Ministry for Kumham Imipas had held a meeting with the DPR to revise the National Legislation Program (Prolegnas).

"The Asset Confiscation Bill has been included in the National Legislation Program for 2025-2026 and will be discussed this year," said Yusril.
