Visit Salemba Rutan, Wife Of Jenguk Corruption Suspect Chromebook Nadiem Makarim

The wife of the suspect in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of the Nadiem Makarim Chromebook, Franka Franklin Makarim, visited her husband at the Salemba Rutan, South Jakarta Kejari Branch, Monday (8/9/2025).

JAKARTA - The wife of the suspect in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of the Nadiem Makarim Chromebook, Franka Franklin Makarim, visited her husband who was undergoing detention at the Salemba Detention Center, South Jakarta District Attorney's Branch.

Based on Antara's observation, Franka arrived at the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office, South Jakarta, Monday, at 12.30 WIB. He appears to be accompanied by a number of attorneys.

Then, Franka left the building at 13:47 WIB.

To the media crew, the woman said that she only visited and brought food to her husband, Nadiem Makarim.

"It's just looking normal. Bring rant, bring samosa food and pastel from home. Make the mother," he said.

When the media crew asked what message Nadiem had, Franka said that her husband only left prayers.

"Please pray all my friends and thank you for the support so far. Thank you very much," he said.

Meanwhile, Nadiem Makarim's attorney, Muhammad Ali Nurdin, said that his client spent time in detention reading books.

"Usually, read a book. Please pray for all. Thank you," he said.

On Thursday 5 September, Nadiem Makarim as the former Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbudristek) was named a new suspect in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of a Chromebook laptop at the Ministry of Education and Culture and Technology in 2019-2022.

Nadiem also underwent detention at the Salemba Rutan, South Jakarta District Attorney's Branch for 20 days.

Apart from Nadiem, the AGO had previously named four suspects in this case.

The four suspects are JT (Jurist Tan) as the Special Staff of the Minister of Education and Culture for 2020-2024 and BAM (Ibrahim Arief) as a former technology consultant at the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Then, SW (Sri Wahyuningsih) as Director of Elementary School Directors of the Primary Education and Secondary Education PAUD Directorate of the Ministry of Education and Culture for 2020-2021 as well as the power of budget users within the Directorate of Elementary Schools in the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

Next, MUL (Mulyatsyah) as Director of SMP of the Directorate of Basic Education and Secondary Education PAUD of the Ministry of Education and Culture for 2020-2021 as well as the power of budget user in the first Middle School Directorate for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
