18-Year-Old Farmer Involved In Methamphetamine Network, Police Hunt For Suppliers From Kendari

The Narcotics Unit of the South Konawe Police (Konsel) is hunting for a supplier of methamphetamine-type narcotics distributed to HR (18), a young farmer involved in the circulation of illicit goods in the Konsel area, Southeast Sulawesi.

Wakapolres Konsel Kompol Fitrayadi said, based on HR's statement, the methamphetamine was obtained from someone in the Kendari City area.

"The place and source are still under police development," said Fitrayadi when confirmed in Kendari, Antara, Monday, September 8.

The development of the case began with the arrest of three youths in Anduna Village, Laeya District, Konsel, on Friday last week. The three of them each had the initials HR (18), AS (18), and IM (20).

"They were arrested based on reports from the public who informed that there were frequent illegal narcotics transactions at the location," said Fitrayadi.

During the arrest, the police found evidence in the form of a package of methamphetamine weighing 50.74 grams and a number of other items suspected of being related to narcotics crimes.

"The perpetrators together with the evidence were immediately taken to the Konsel Police Headquarters for further investigation," he said.

From the results of the interrogation, it was revealed that there was a package of methamphetamine that had been posted in Roraya Village, Tinanggea District, Konsel. The police then moved to the location and managed to arrest two other teenagers, namely RZ (23) and RR (21), when they took the package.

“Para tersangka dijerat Pasal 114 Ayat (2) Undang-Undang Nomor 35 Tahun 2009 tentang Narkotika dengan ancaman hukuman maksimal 20 tahun penjara,” tambah Fitrayadi.

"The suspects were charged with Article 114 Paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison," added Fitrayadi.
