New Face After Riots, Now The Name Of The Transjakarta Senen Sentral Bus Stop Has Been Changed To A Bus Stop To Guard Jakarta

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the operation of the Central Transjakarta Senen Bus Stop which was damaged by demonstrations that led to riots around Mako Brimob Kwitang, Central Jakarta.

Not only inaugurated, Pramono also changed the name of the bus to the Jakarta Guard Bus Stop. In addition, Pramono also launched a number of new Transjakarta electric buses that cross the Jakarta Guard Bus Stop.

"Today I inaugurated what was called the New Bus Stop, which was formerly called the Central Senen, the Transjakarta Bus Stop to Guard Jakarta," Pramono said at the Jakarta Guard Stop, Senen, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 8.

Pramono explained the reason why Jaga Jakarta was chosen as the name of this bus stop. Pramono wants the Jakarta Guard Stop to be a reminder to all parties not to let public facilities be damaged when riots occur in the capital city.

This movement was originally campaigned by the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government and regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) after a number of public facilities were damaged and burned by an unknown crowd during a series of demonstrations at the end of last August.

"This change is of course with the intention that we all protect Jakarta together. It is impossible to keep Jakarta only carried out by the government without the involvement of the community's participation completely," Pramono explained.

Pramono revealed that the Jakarta Guard bus stop serves around 10 thousand passengers every day. With a fairly large volume of Transjakarta customers, Pramono ensures that facilities at this bus stop can be reused.

"If you look at the volume, it's huge. All supporting facilities start from places to pray, then people sell, toilets, everything is well prepared," he explained.

Furthermore, Pramono thanked all Jakartans who showed their concern to drive the Jakarta Guard campaign to help clean up post-demo public facilities.

"I would like to express my gratitude for the participation, togetherness, concern, cooperation carried out by all Jakartans, when Jakarta was dealing with pressure due to demonstrations and so on," he added.
