Pramono: Open Monas For Religious Events

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo and Deputy Governor Rano Karno attended the Jakarta Salawat activity at Plaza Selatan Monas, Central Jakarta, on Saturday, September 7 evening.

On that occasion, Pramono emphasized that Monas was open to various religious activities and other positive activities.

"Monas is open to all religious events. That has become my commitment with Bang Doel. Activities in Jakarta have returned to normal, so anyone who wants to hold a religious event or other positive activities, go ahead. We will take care of it," Pramono said, quoted on Sunday, September 7.

This event was held in order to welcome the Prophet Muhammad SAW 1447 Hijri at the same time as a joint prayer for the Indonesian people. Thousands of worshipers attended the Monas area and participated in a series of activities ranging from congregational Maghrib prayers, reading Yasin Letters, tahlil, prayer together, to salawat chanting.

Pramono admitted that he was enthusiastic about the implementation of the Jakarta Salawat. According to him, this activity is an important momentum in strengthening faith, piety, and keeping the city atmosphere safe and conducive.

"After a long time we have been waiting for activities to return to Monas, I think this is the right momentum. When Jakarta is in need of the inner strengthening of society to protect the city, events like this are very important," explained Pramono.

Jakarta Salawat begins with congregational Maghrib prayers, reading Yasin's Letter, tahlil, and prayer together, then followed by salawat chanting.

The activity, which was attended by thousands of congregants, also presented a number of ulama, habaib, and community leaders. They also pray for the safety and blessings of Jakarta and the Indonesian nation.
