CIREBON - Inspectorate of Cirebon Regency, West Java, recorded initial losses due to riots at the local DPRD Building complex on Saturday, August 30, reaching more than IDR 8 billion.

The Assistant Inspector of the Cirebon District Inspectorate, Eni Seniwati, said the figure was still an initial estimate which included damage to the main building, while inventory data collection was still ongoing.

"This figure is only a temporary estimate, because a detailed calculation of other goods is still being carried out," said Eni in Cirebon, Antara, Thursday, September 4.

A joint team involving regional asset experts has been conducting inventory since the day after the riots. This process is estimated to take up to 10 days.

According to Eni, data collection includes the physical condition of the DPRD building, supporting facilities, and office inventory items that were damaged or lost.

"Buildings are relatively easy to calculate because there are construction standards. But computers, electronic devices, and documents must be verified one by one," he said.

He emphasized that the final results of the inventory of the value of losses would be submitted to the Regent of Cirebon and the Regional Finance and Assets Agency (BKAD) as the basis for the preparation of the asset recovery plan.

The vandalism, said Eni, adds to the regional fiscal burden because the government needs to prepare a refocusing budget for repair and replacement of damaged facilities.

"This is a state loss. Therefore, the inventory must be fast and accurate so that there is certainty of the total number," said Eni.

Meanwhile, initial data from the Cirebon Regency Government stated that the value of the loss could reach Rp. 10 billion for the DPRD environment and Rp.492 million for assets belonging to the Environment Agency (DLH).

The Regent of Cirebon, Imron, emphasized that the local government is adjusting the budget so that the repair of the DPRD building does not interfere with priority development programs.

"We focus, especially so as not to interfere with regional fiscals for road construction and other basic services," said Imron.
