Menkomdigi Asks For Reconciliation, General Chairperson Of PWI 2025-2030 Make Sure Rangkul Hendry Ch Builds

Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid welcomed the holding of the PWI Unity Congress which went smoothly and democratically.

"We are happy to hear the news that the PWI Unity Congress is going well. Hopefully PWI will truly unite again and focus on guarding professional journalism," said Meutya when receiving the elected PWI General Chair Akhmad Munir and elected DK Chair Atal S. Depari in Jakarta, Wednesday (3/9).

During the meeting, Meutya, who was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Komdigi Nezar Patria and the Director General of Public and Media Communications, Fifi Alyda Yaya, left a message that the management would only embrace Hendry Ch Bangun. "Enforce Mr. Hendry. So that reconciliation can actually be realized," he said.

The PWI Association Congress in Cikarang, Bekasi, August 29, 2025, is the end of dualism that divides PWI for almost two years. The split had occurred between PWI results from the 2023 Bandung Congress and the 2024 Jakarta Extraordinary Congress PWI. Through the support of the Ministry of Communication and Trade and press figures Dahlan Dahi, the two camps agreed to hold a joint congress.

As a result, the Director of LKBN Antara Akhmad Munir was democratically elected as the General Chair of PWI 2025-2030 and Atal S. Depari as Chairman of DK. Responding to the hopes of the Minister of Communication and Industry, Munir ensured that the new management would accommodate Hendry Ch Bangun and his team. "Mr. Hendry's name has been included in the list of administrators who are arranged for the formatur," explained Munir.

Munir added that the formatur is finalizing the personnel composition to immediately process the ratification of the AHU to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The inauguration of the management is planned for the end of September at the National Press Museum, Solo.

The Minister of Trade also emphasized that he is ready to collaborate with PWI in maintaining professional journalism in the midst of the swift flow of information, so that journalists stick to the journalistic code of ethics.
