Kapuspen TNI: Pam Swakarsa Is Currently Not Political Like The Past

JAKARTA - Head of the Information Center of the TNI Headquarters (Kapuspen) Brigadier General (Mar) Freddy Ardianzah emphasized that the security of the Swakarsa Community (Pam Swakarsa) which is currently held is not the same as the political Pam Swakarsa of the past.

"In the past, Pam Swakarsa was linked with politics. Meanwhile, the term Pam Swakarsa which was activated by community organizations such as GM FKPPI is more in the spirit of community participation in maintaining the security of their respective environments," Freddy said when confirmed on Wednesday, quoted by Antara.

Freddy explained that the Pam Swakarsa implemented by the TNI currently aims to involve the community in maintaining regional security.

The community involved is also in the form of community organizations (ormas) or citizens individually.

With the involvement of the community, Freddy hopes that efforts to secure the situation can be carried out humanely and on target.

"We view the involvement of the community in protecting their respective environments as positive, as long as it is carried out in an orderly, coordinated, and not out of legal provisions," he said.

However, Freddy emphasized that the people involved in Pam Swakarsa must be in the coordination of the TNI and Polri.

"The TNI encourages every security activity, to continue to coordinate with the apparatus, so that it runs orderly, does not violate the law, and the goal must be clear, namely to create security and peace in their respective environments," said Freddy.
