After Being Hit By Demonstrations, Today The DPR Holds A Legislation Meeting Again

JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives held another meeting at the parliament complex, Jakarta, Monday, after being attacked by protests from various elements of society that led to anarchy.

Meanwhile, Commission I of the DPR held a working meeting regarding the discussion of the State Budget (APBN) cycle with the TNI. A number of members of Commission I of the DPR RI and their leaders have also been active and present at the parliamentary complex.

"The state budget is a cycle, the cycle must fit the mechanism. What is being discussed is not yet known from there," said Chairman of Commission I DPR RI Utut Adianto.

Apart from Utut, a number of members of Commission I of the DPR who appeared to be present included Dave Laksono, Sukamta, TB Hasanuddin, Gavriel Novanto, to Andina Theresia Narang.

It is planned that the DPR RI will also hold a meeting of the Legislation Body of the DPR RI with the agenda of drafting the Draft Law on the Protection of Domestic Workers (PPRT).

As for August 25, 2025, the mass demonstrations packed the parliamentary complex to convey demands, one of which was about the elimination of fantastic allowances for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

Then on August 28, 2025, a joint labor union also held an action at the parliamentary complex to convey demands, including the issue of eliminating outsourcing and refusing low wages.

However, in the afternoon, the parliamentary complex was visited by demonstrations from other elements that caused chaos. The demonstration which led to the chaos continued until August 29 and 30, 2025, until President Prabowo Subianto asked the authorities to take firm action.
