Police And TNI Guard Eko Patrio's House To Create A Conducive Atmosphere

JAKARTA - The police and the TNI are on guard at the house of DPR RI member Eko Hendro Purnomo or Eko Patrio on Jalan Karang Asem 1, Kuningan, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, to create a conducive atmosphere, after being looted by the masses, Saturday night, August 30, 2025.

"There is security from the TNI and Polri," said South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, August 31.

Nicolas said at the time of the incident, the personnel deployed were not proportional to the large number of people.

However, his party ensures that the atmosphere remains conducive until Sunday morning after the looting.

"However, the large number of people came to the crime scene, over and over again in three waves carrying out destruction and looting," he said.

Earlier, on Saturday there were a number of household furniture, clothing, and electronic items scattered around, the floor of the house was full of broken glass and windows were thrown with hard objects.

Several people were seen carrying chairs, lights, chairs, suitcases, studio speakers and mattresses out of the house which was said to belong to Eko, Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the DPR RI.

Security officers and officers dressed in full lines on standby outside and inside the house seemed unable to do much when people continued to arrive.

Most of the residents claimed to know the location and existence of looting activities in the house from the distribution of live broadcast videos and also video footage uploaded on a number of social media channels.

Previously, Eko Patrio was in the public spotlight after uploading a parody video on his personal TikTok account @kopatriosuper which featured himself acting as a "disjoking" of horeg' music.

The video drew strong criticism from netizens because it was considered insensitive to community problems and then, Saturday night, August 30, Eko officially apologized to the public through uploading videos on his personal Instagram account.
