JAKARTA The Indonesian National Army (TNI) deployed 100 personnel to evacuate the car carcass that caught fire in front of the East Jakarta Metro Police to unravel the flow of traffic on Jalan Matraman Raya.

Approximately 14 cars caught fire during a demonstration in front of the East Jakarta Metro Police which took place on Friday, August 29, 2025 night until Saturday, August 30, 2025 at dawn WIB.

The Commander of Korem 051/Wijayakarta Brigadier General Nugroho Imam said that the number of car carcasses on the front road of the Metro Police caused traffic to stall.

"Therefore, we from the news that the leadership of the Jaya Military Command sent 100 soldiers with four cars for evacuation. So, the point is that the important thing is that this road can be passed by residents or the community first," he said.

The car carcass on Jalan Matraman Raya began to be evacuated at 11.45 pm WIB. Before the evacuation process, it was seen that the parts of the car could be removed.

They are eyeing car doors, seats, and even machines that can be removed. Residents also continue to carry out these activities in the middle of the evacuation process.

Imam said that the evacuated cars would be collected on vacant land belonging to the 11l/DW Combat Engineer Battalion (Yonzipur) in front of the East Jakarta Metro Police.

"We will collect it there, then the identification procession or the people who do have it will be able to see there. The most important thing is that we can access this road by the community," he said.

Imam also appealed to the public that demonstrations are commonplace in democracy. However, he wants the demonstration process to express his aspirations if it can run according to the rules.

"Saying [aspirations] please, but do not cause future destruction of all kinds of things, the loss is the community again," he said.
