Chaotic At Mako Brimob Kwitang Still Continues Tonight, Molotov Responds To Tear Gas

JAKARTA - The mass action in front of the Mako Brimob Polda Metro Jaya, Kwitang, Central Jakarta, lasted until late at night with a mob throwing Molotov cocktails, while Brimob officers fired tear gas at the protesters.

ANTARA's observation on Friday at around 21.40 WIB showed the situation was heating up, as the protesters and Brimob officers were involved in attacking each other with a series of dangerous object throws and tear gas.

Despite being hit by tear gas, some of the protesters remained at the location, holding back by throwing various objects, including fireworks and Molotov cocktails at Brimob officers.

Until now, Brimob forces have continued to carry out efforts to disperse the masses with tear gas shots, while the situation around Mako Brimob Kwitang remains tense and has not been fully controlled.

On the other hand, medical officers were seen helping some of the masses affected by the tear gas.

The demonstrators of the Mako Brimob Polda Metro Jaya, Kwitang, Central Jakarta continued into the night. During the demonstration, some of the previous masses gradually dispersed at around 18.00 WIB, although once there were still groups who survived and continued to clash with Brimob officers.

In the atmosphere of the demonstration, it was seen that a car and two-wheeled vehicle were burned down. Even a building in front of Mako was also burned down, fortunately the fire brigade team assisted by the TNI extinguished the fire in the building.

Previously, the masses from a joint online motorcycle taxi driver visited Brimob's headquarters in the area on Friday morning for the reaction to the death of their colleague, Affan Kurniawan, who was allegedly run over by a Brimob rantis on Thursday (28/8) night.
