Current Situation: Masses Are Chaotic In Front Of The Yogyakarta Regional Police To Burn Cars At The Makassar DPRD

JAKARTA - The chaos spread in the aftermath of protests against the repressive actions of Brimob members ran over online motorcycle taxi drivers Affan Kurniawan. The crowd burned a number of vehicles to buildings in various areas.

Recently, the tense situation is still taking place in front of the Yogyakarta Special Region Police. There was a fire burning in the middle of the crowd.

The Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT) was burned by the masses. The police blocked the crowd with tear gas shots.

In Makassar, South Sulawesi, the masses set fire to the police post on Jalan AP Pettarani.

A number of cars in the parking lot of the DPRD office were also burned.

In Jakarta, the masses in front of the DPR building are still standing. The crowd broke into the DPR's side fence and even tried to cut the trellis with a gerinda.

Had pushed into the area of the parliament complex, the crowd was blocked by the authorities with tear gas shots.

Meanwhile, the 10th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia and 12 Jusuf Kalla alias JK invited all parties to exercise restraint and keep conditions safe and under control.

JK also expressed his condolences for the death of online motorcycle taxi driver (ojek online/ojol) Affan Kurniawan during a demonstration in Jakarta, Thursday (28/8) night.

"In today's situation, of course, we express our deep condolences for the death of Affan Kurniawan," said JK, Friday, August 29.

JK also asked the police to try and take firm action against members involved in the incident or the party who caused the death of Affan Kurniawan.

"Hopefully this can be conveyed properly that all those who are guilty must be given commensurate, tough action," he said.

JK invites all people to refrain from facing the current situation. The reason is, if this extends, it will have direct consequences for the lives of the Indonesian people.

"If the city is volatile like this, then the economic life will stop. This can have long consequences," said JK.
