Heavy Rain, Mass Action In Front Of The DPR Subsides

Demonstrations in front of the door of the DPR/MPR building subsided after heavy rains flushed. One by one the masses seemed to run for shelter.

However, many of them decided to stay in their position even though it was raining heavily.

Previously, at around 17.00 WIB, the tension of the action increased, which was marked by the throwing of firecrackers into the parliament complex.

In addition, some of the masses tried to damage the surveillance camera (CCTV) which was close to the gate.

Some of the masses also tried to enter the parliamentary complex by climbing over the fence which was about five meters high.

Towards 18.00 WIB, the masses of the tires were seen burning in the middle of the S. Parman (Domestic Toll Road) Toll Road.

In addition, not far from the location, previously, a number of student groups, including the All-Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) and the BEM University of Indonesia (UI) planned to hold a demonstration in front of the Polda Metro Jaya Headquarters on Friday afternoon.

The demonstration was carried out following the death of an online motorcycle taxi driver named Affan Kurniawan as a result of being run over by a Brimob tactical vehicle on Thursday (28/8) night.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Propam Police Division, Inspector General Abdul Karim, revealed that seven Brimob officers suspected of being involved in the random incident were still in the process of being investigated.
