Police Propam: 7 Brimob Members Violate Code Of Ethics, Patsus 20 Days

JAKARTA - The National Police's Professional and Security Division (Propam) said seven Brimob members were proven to have violated the police professional code of ethics in the incident of the death of online motorcycle taxi driver Affan Kurniawan who was run over by a Brimob tactical vehicle.

Head of the National Police Propam Division, Inspector General Abdul Karim, said the seven members were immediately placed specifically (pathus) for 20 days starting today.

"Against seven suspected violators, we have determined that they are proven to have violated the police professional code of ethics. Therefore, starting today, special placements will be carried out at the National Police Propam for 20 days," said Abdul Karim in Jakarta, Friday, August 28.

He revealed that the identification results showed two members sitting at the front of the vehicle, including the driver. The rest are in the back seat.

The driver is Bripka R. Next to him sits Kompol C. While the other five sit in the back, namely Aipda M, Brigadier D, Bripda M, and Baraka E and Y," explained Abdul Karim.

Sanksi ini menyusul pemeriksaan internal terkait insiden yang memicu aksi protes mahasiswa di depan Polda Metro Jaya. Massa menuntut pertanggungjawaban atas tindakan represif yang menewaskan Affan.

This sanction follows an internal examination related to the incident that sparked student protests in front of the Polda Metro Jaya. The masses demanded accountability for the repressive actions that killed Affan.
