Affan Killed By Rantas Brimob, Prabowo: I Was Shocked And Disappointed

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto expressed his disappointment with the actions of the police officers who hit and ran over Affan Kurniawan during the August 28 demonstrations.

"Ladies and gentlemen, once again, I am surprised and disappointed by the excessive actions of the officers," Prabowo was quoted as saying in a video statement, Friday, August 29.

Prabowo has ordered that last night's incident be thoroughly and transparently investigated, and the officers involved must be held accountable.

"If it is found that they are acting out of accordance and applicable regulations, we will take strict action according to applicable law," he said.

Seeing the current condition, Prabowo asked the Indonesian people to be calm and continue to believe in the government they lead. Prabowo claims that all public complaints will be followed up.

On the other hand, Prabowo appealed to all people in the country to always be vigilant. Because, according to him, there are elements that always want Indonesia to be chaotic and chaotic.

"For that, we must be vigilant, we must be calm, and we must not allow groups who want to riot and riot," he added.

Affan was a victim of violence perpetrated by an individual when there was a clash between the masses and the demonstrators of the DPR RI Building on Jalan Purification, Central Jakarta, Thursday, August 28, 2025.

Thursday night, the 20-year-old online motorcycle taxi driver (ojol) was hit and run over by a Rantis car belonging to Brimob on Jalan Purification, Central Jakarta.
