JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hopes the framework for security guarantees for Ukraine will soon be set next week.
Kyiv continues negotiations with allies to obtain a strong support mechanism to prevent further Russian aggression.
Zelenskyy said he had discussed the topic intensively with his Turkish partner, Tayyip Erdogan, by phone call following a massive Russian attack that killed 19 people in Kyiv overnight.
"National security advisers are currently working on each specific component, and the entire framework will be outlined in documents next week," Zelenskyy said after the phone call, Thursday, August 28.
According to him, Turkish companies were affected in the Russian attack.
Zelenskyy said the Turkish defense minister would be involved in discussions to explore Turkey's potential involvement in ensuring security, particularly in the Black Sea.
The head of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, visited Turkey on Thursday to discuss the topic, as well as bilateral defense cooperation, Umerov said on Facebook.
