Ukrainian Caucasian Defendant Of Drug Laboratory In Bali Demanded Life In Prison

The Badung District Attorney's Public Prosecutor (JPU) has demanded that a Ukrainian citizen named Roman Nazarenko (42) be imprisoned for life in a drug laboratory case in Sunny Village, Tibubeneng Village, North Kuta, Badung, Bali.

In the trial with the agenda of reading the demands at the Denpasar District Court, Prosecutor Ryan Mahardika stated that the defendant Roman Nazarenko was proven to be involved in the drug factory network.

"Demanding that the defendant Roman Nazarenko be sentenced to life imprisonment," said Prosecutor Ryan Mahardika before the Panel of Judges led by Chief Justice Eni Martiningrum, Thursday, August 28.

Public Prosecutor Ryan Mahardika stated that the defendant was proven to have violated Article 113 paragraph 2 Juncto Article 132 paragraph 1 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 and Article 111 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph 1 of Law no. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

The thing that burdens Roman is that the defendant's actions are not in accordance with government programs and have the potential to damage Indonesia's young generation.

In addition, the defendant Nazarenko was considered convoluted in giving information during the trial.

The thing that relieves the defendant is being polite during the trial.

Regarding these demands, the defendant Roman Nazarenko stated that he would submit a memorandum of defense/pledoi.

The defendant Roman remained firm in his stance and admitted that he was only a subordinate of the mastermind behind this case, namely Oleg Tkachuk.

Defendant Roman declared himself not the main brain in the case of the 'super village' narcotics produced by the hydropone and cultivation of hydroponic marijuana at the luxury villa.

On the other hand, he only received a salary per month of 800 US dollars from Oleg Tkachuk.

"I was only asked to supervise the construction of the villa, but after finding out that I was using drugs, I chose to go to Thailand," Roman said at the trial.

Meanwhile, the defendant's lawyer Aditya assessed that the prosecutor's demands were not careful considering Oleg Tkachuk had not been caught.

"We regret it and we will face the process. Let the panel of judges decide," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

Legal advisers assess that the Prosecutor is not observant in considering the facts of the trial, especially the confessions of the twins Mykyta Volovod and Ivan Volovod who were presented as crown witnesses.

Mykyta Volovod and Ivan Volovod themselves have been sentenced to 20 years in prison in the same case.

During the trial for some time, two Ukrainian twins said that Oleg Tkachuk was the mastermind of narcotics manufacturing at the sunny village, Tibubeneng Village, North Kuta.

However, so far, Oleg Tkachuk has not been secured until he has been touched by the law, such as the defendants at the Denpasar District Court (PN).
