JAKARTA - General Manager of Geopark Rinjani Lombok Province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Qwadru P Wicaksono revealed that the evaluation results related to the future of Geopark Rinjani as the Unesco Global Geopark network will be carried out in September 2025 in Chile.
"The information is, September in Chile. But we don't know if we can attend or not. But later in September it will be re-assessed by Unesco," he confirmed by reporters at the NTB Governor's Office in Mataram, Wednesday, which was confiscated by Antara.
He said, in the Unesco meeting session held in Chile in September, all the results of the evaluation that had been carried out by the assessor team when they came to Lombok in June and July 2025, would be discussed in everything at the hearing.
"The announcement will only be made in April next year," said Qwadru, his nickname.
Qwadru did not deny that when two assessors from Unesco went to Lombok, there were several things that the assessor team was concerned about to be repaired and equipped by the Rinjani Geopark management. One of them is related to the information board at the Rinjani Geopark Information Center (PIGR) in Sembalun, East Lombok Regency which is not yet fully available.
"God willing, we will complete all the records of the assessor team," he said.
In addition to the information board in PIGR Sembalun, several notes that have attracted the attention of the assessor team, especially in Gili Trawangan, North Lombok Regency, regarding the need for additional promotional material in the waiting room, will also be completed, thereby further strengthening the geopark information.
"What is in this gili because it is seen that it is still empty, so it is a shame if it is not used," explained Qwadru.
