Ask Pati Solid Residents Amid Pressure To Resign, Sudewo Regent: I Will Istiqomah

Regent Pati Sudewo said he would be istiqomah in carrying out his duties even though residents urged him to resign. He will continue to work in accordance with the mandate given.

This was conveyed by Sudewo after being questioned at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, August 27. He was questioned as a witness in the bribery of the construction of the railway line at the Director General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

"I will be istiqomah, I will be entrusted to build Pati district as well as possible. I support the community to remain solid," Sudewo told reporters.

Meanwhile, KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo stated that his institution had received around 350 letters from Pati residents. The institution will study the post.

"Just today we received a shipment of approximately 350 letters from Pati residents," Budi said on a separate occasion.

"We express our gratitude and appreciation because this is a form of support for eradicating corruption and of course we will open the letter later, explore it, and analyze its contents which are currently part of public complaints," he added.

Budi also said that Pati's letter could be enrichment for the KPK related to the handling of the alleged corruption case or efforts to eradicate corruption in other fields.

"Given that the output of the process in public complaints is certainly not only for prosecution efforts, but also for the results of studies and analysis in public complaints, it can also be followed up with efforts to prevent coordination and supervision or campaign socialization activities through tasks and functions in education and community and society," he concluded.
