JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has proposed an additional budget of IDR 880.5 billion in the Ministry and Institutional Budget Plan (RKAKL) for the 2026 Fiscal Year.

This proposal was conveyed by the Head of BMKG, Dwikorita Karnawati, in a working meeting with Commission V of the DPR RI at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 27.

Dwikorita explained, BMKG received an increase in budget ceilings from the original indicative ceiling to a budget ceiling of IDR 2.675 trillion. However, according to him, this figure is still lower than the total BMKG budget requirement which reached IDR 3.556 trillion.

"So far, there is still a backlog of Rp. 880.5 billion," said Dwikorita.

Dwikorita said the additional budget would be submitted back to the Minister of Finance and Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas.

He said this additional funds would later be allocated for the three main activities. First, the implementation of field schools with financing from Rupiah Murni funds.

"And second, carry out other national priority activities. Third, finance institutional priority activities which are part of the tasks and functions of the BMKG," said Dwikorita.

For information, the Rupiah Murni Fund is an allocation of funds in the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) which does not come from loans or foreign grants. This means that all sources of funds come from domestic revenues, such as taxes, non-tax state revenues (PNBP), and other legitimate sources according to statutory regulations.
