Illegal Parking Rises On The Shoulders Of The Kelapa Gading Area Road, Transportation Agency Says Violators Can Be Convicted

JAKARTA - A number of points along Jalan Boulevard, Kelapa Gading District, North Jakarta, are booming in illegal parking of four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles. The illegal parking is also guarded by a number of illegal jukir who only have a light blue uniform.

Illegal parking of the vehicle is charged cash which is requested directly by a number of illegal jukir in the area.

Head of North Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept., Hendrico Tampubolon, said that according to the road law, every road body must not be changed for people or organizations.

"If he uses it, it will be imposed in accordance with applicable regulations up to criminal," said Hendrico when confirmed, Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Hendrico appealed to the public not to park their vehicles on the shoulder of the road for violating existing regulations.

"So it must be educated to the public that every road body is not allowed to park, unless there is a P sign stating that he can park," he said.

Illegal parking of four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles in the Boulevard area often anticipates road bodies.

Illegal jukir have determined the boundary area of their parking lot to quote parking extortion to a number of motorists, even though the parking area is on the shoulder of the road.
