Asked About The Potential To Be A Suspect In The Bribery Of DJKA, Sudewo Silenced When He Came To The KPK

Regent Pati Sudewa alias Sudewo fulfilled the summons of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, August 27. He did not say much when he arrived at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta to be examined as a witness to the bribery for the construction of the railway line at the Director General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

From field observations, Sudewo arrived at around 09.43 WIB. He immediately rushed into the area of the anti-corruption commission office building.

"Meeting the call," he said briefly to reporters.

Sudewo kept covering his face with a mask. He seemed accompanied by a number of people dressed neatly.

Sudewo made no other statement. Including when asked about his opportunity to become a suspect because he received money in the DJKA bribery case. Sudewo chose to hurry in even though the media crew continued to search for him.

The KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said that his party was waiting for Sudewo's presence to be examined as a witness. There is no reason for him to be absent because investigators have set the schedule according to his time.

Meanwhile, Sudewo should have been questioned on Friday, August 22. However, he could not attend because he admitted that there had been other scheduled agendas.

"We believe that the person concerned, especially since the request for rescheduling from SDW itself, we believe that SDW brothers will also be present at the examination," Budi told reporters.

The KPK previously agreed that Sudewo had returned the money he received related to the alleged DJKA bribery. However, this return does not mean that he is forgiven.

"It's true, as stated at the trial, it has been returned," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, quoted on Friday, August 14.

Asep said Article 4 of the Anti-Corruption Law said that the refund did not erase the crime that had been committed. Meanwhile, Sudewo is suspected of having participated in receiving a commitment fee in this case and it was revealed at the trial in November 2023.

Furthermore, the KPK said that Sudewo was suspected of playing DJKA projects in a number of areas. "The role is not only in Solo Balapan-Kadipiro," said Asep, who is also the Director of KPK Investigations.

"So we are still waiting because this must be complete. So the person concerned (Sudewo, ed) is not only in that project, so in almost all projects there is a role," he continued.
