Reply To Houthi Missiles, Israeli Attack On Yemen's Sanaa Kills 6 People

JAKARTA - An Israeli attack hit Yemen's capital, Sanaa, on Sunday in retaliation for a Houthi missile fired at Israel.

A Houthi health official said an Israeli attack killed six people and injured 86 people.

This attack is the latest in more than a year of direct attacks and retaliatory attacks between Israel and the Houthis.

The Israeli military said its targets included a military complex housing the presidential palace, two power plants, and a fuel storage site.

The attack killed six people and injured 86 people in the last few toll, a spokesman for the Houthi Ministry of Health said in X.

"The attack was carried out in response to repeated attacks by the Houthi terrorist regime against the State of Israel and its civilians, including the launch of surface-to-surface and UAV missiles on Israeli territory in recent days," the Israeli military said in a statement.

On Friday, the Houthis fired ballistic missiles at Israel in their latest attack, as a form of support for

Palestinians in Gaza.

An Israeli Air Force official said on Sunday that the missile most likely carried several submunits that exploded during the collision.

"This is the first time this kind of missile has been launched from Yemen," the official said.
