JAKARTA - Head of the Indonesian Armed Forces Information Center (Kapuspen) Major General Kristomei Sianturi confirmed that the former member of the Indonesian Navy (AL) who joined the Russian military, Satria Arta Kumbara, was no longer the responsibility of the TNI.

"It's been retired, the desertion has been issued, right, it's not part of the TNI anymore to monitor it," Kristomei said in response to reports that Satria Kumbara was seriously injured, in Jakarta, Monday, which was confiscated by Antara.

Kapuspen emphasized that the TNI no longer has any interests with Satria.

"We have no interest anymore because his status has been fired, he has returned to being an ordinary civil society. So, the TNI is no longer responsible for that," he said.

Satria Kumbara is reportedly injured as a result of being attacked while serving as a Russian mercenaries in a war with Ukraine.

The news was conveyed by Ruslan Buton, who is also a former TNI soldier, through his TikTok social media account a few days ago.

In the video that has been liked by thousands of users, Satria Kumbara appears to be injured in the head. He also conveyed his remarks on the Dirgahayu of the Republic of Indonesia.

Previously, the Indonesian Navy's Information Service stated that Satria had been fired from the membership of the Marine Corps Inspectorate based on the in absence decision (decision with the absence of the defendant) of the Military Court (Dilmil) II-08 Jakarta on April 6, 2023.

The Ministry of Law said that Satria was no longer an Indonesian citizen (WNI). Some time ago, Satria had gone viral on social media after asking to return to being an Indonesian citizen.

Head of the Indonesian Navy Information Service, First Admiral Tunggul, said Satria was no longer part of the TNI. He emphasized that the Indonesian Navy would not want to respond to Satria's request to return to become an Indonesian citizen.

"It is more appropriate to ask the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or also the Indonesian Ministry of Law regarding the citizenship status concerned. What is clear is that there is no longer any connection with the Indonesian Navy," said Tunggul when confirmed in Jakarta, Monday (21/7).

According to Tunggul, the Indonesian Navy will continue to hold the decision of the Jakarta Military Court II-08, which states that Satria Arta Kumbara has been legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal offense starting from June 13, 2022 until now.

Not only that, based on Case Decision Number 56-K/PM.II-08/AL/IV/2023, Satria Arta Kumbara was also sentenced to one year in prison and fired from the TNI.

"Acte Decision Has Obtained Permanent Legal Force (AMKHT) set on April 17, 2023, signaling that the decision is valid and cannot be contested," Tunggul said.
