WEST LOMBOK - The discovery of the body of a woman with the initials N (27) buried in a well in a rented house in the Griya Perembun Asri Housing Complex, Parampuan Village, Labuapi District, West Lombok Regency, shocked residents on Saturday, August 23. The victim was found buried under a layer of cement and is suspected to have been murdered by her boyfriend, IM.
The process of evacuating the victim's body was dramatic. A joint team from the West Lombok Police Criminal Investigation Unit, the Inafis Unit, and residents took approximately nine hours to remove the body from the three-meter-deep well filled with cement.
West Lombok Police Chief, AKBP Yasmara Harahap, revealed that the case began with a report filed by the victim's family with the Gerung Police on August 12, 2025. N had been reported missing since August 10, 2025, and had not returned home. The police investigation ultimately led to IM, who lived in the same house as the victim.

"We have arrested the perpetrator. During interrogation, we received a confession from the perpetrator, along with evidence pointing to him. However, to confirm everything, we are still awaiting the autopsy results," said Yasmara.
The victim has been taken to Bhayangkara Mataram Hospital for an autopsy. Police are still awaiting the results of the medical examination, including confirmation of the report that the victim was pregnant at the time of the incident. IM's legal status will be determined after the case presentation, while the motive for the murder is still under investigation.
Local residents expressed shock over this incident. The couple were known to be private and rarely socialized.
"They've been secretive all this time. Their house is almost always locked. N works at a restaurant, while IM works odd jobs. We never suspected something like this would happen," said a resident who declined to be named.
A neighbor, Fuad, also claimed to have never heard any disturbance.
"I live on the same wall as their house, but I've never heard any fighting. I was here three nights ago, and nothing happened. Now I know this has happened, so I'm shocked," he said.
Parampuan Village Head, HM Zubaidi, confirmed that the victim and perpetrator were not native residents of his village. IM is known to be from Mataram City and has lived in the village without clear identification for almost a year.
"The perpetrator doesn't have an ID card as a resident. He lives in the house as a resident, either by purchase or rent. The victim is a widow, and the perpetrator is a widower. They are known to be dating," Zubaidi said.
