People's School Student Praises Prabowo: Thank You For Lifting Me From The Dark Place To The Light

President Prabowo Subianto provided briefing to more than 2,000 public school teachers and their principals from various regions/ANTARA/HO-Presidential Media Team Prabowo Subianto.

JAKARTA - A student of SMP Rakyat School 19 Efata Kupang, Sofia Rosista Angel, thanked President Prabowo Subianto because President Prabowo was like a parent figure who had brought his life from "dark" and full of limitations to "explained".

In the briefing ceremony for People's School teachers and school principals, Sofia's statement, which was broadcast in a video, was witnessed by President Prabowo.

"Thank you, Mr. President, for paying attention to us, the marginalized children from the East. I know you are busy taking care of the country but we still have time to take care of us for school. For me, you are like parents who have lifted me from dark places and put me in a clear place," Sofia told President Prabowo as reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 22.

Sofia also revealed her dream later after graduating from the People's School.

He said that if he later succeeded in achieving his dreams and ideals, President Prabowo would be the first person to remember because he had established a People's School, and gave opportunities for children from prosperous families such as Sofia to become students and students.

"One day, if you become a successful person, all because of your helping hand, give you the opportunity to go to the People's School. God willing, take good care of you, from Kupang, Karang City, send a warm hug (for) Mr. President," Sofia said.

When President Prabowo heard messages from Sofia, he seemed moved and shed tears.

The People's School is a boarding school that is one of the priority programs of President Prabowo Subianto's government.

The program was first launched in July 2025 right at the opening of the new school year.

In its implementation, the People's School students are those who come from the welfare family, and the children go to school for free, and get all the facilities needed for education and life in dormitories.

Currently there are 100 People's Schools that have been established and operational.

President Prabowo, at the briefing, announced that in September 2025, there would be an additional 65 schools so that the total public schools operating would be 165 schools.

Meanwhile, in 2026, the target is 200 People's Schools operating in various parts of Indonesia.
