Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer apologized to President Prabowo Subianto after officially becoming a suspect in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

This was conveyed by Immanuel Ebenezer after being announced as a suspect by the Chairman of the KPK, Setyo Budiyanto, after being caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Wednesday night, August 20. He had an orange dream with ten other people.

"I really want to, first I apologize to President Pak Prabowo," said Immanuel to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, August 22.

Immanuel also apologized to his family.

"And the third time I apologize to the people of Indonesia," he said.

In addition, Immanuel also denied the KPK's statement, including the issue of silent and extortion operations. He said he was not exposed to OTT.

"Secondly, my case is not a case of extortion so that the narrative outside does not become a dirty narrative that burdens me and my friends, there is not the slightest case of extortion," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK did not only appoint the Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer as a suspect in the alleged extortion of handling work safety and health certificates (K3) at the Ministry of Health. There were a total of 10 other people, including Irvian Bobby Mahendro as Coordinator for Institutional Affairs and Personnel K3 in 2022-2025.

The determination of the suspect began with an intensive examination and had found two pieces of evidence. It is suspected that this extortion has been going on for a long time.

This allegation arose because of the large amount of evidence found, namely 15 cars and 7 motorbikes and Rp170 million and US$2,201 in cash.

The following are 11 suspects named in this case:

All suspects are suspected of violating Article 12 letter (e) and/or Article 12B of Law no. 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
