"Detailed data collection of damage and the needs of residents will continue to be updated along with developments in the situation in the field," said Suharyanto in his statement, Friday, August 22.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 centered in Bekasi Regency on Wednesday (20/8) affected the Karawang area. The Karawang BPBD rapid reaction team noted that 41 houses were damaged and 111 people were affected.

He explained that the damage was spread across six sub-districts, namely Telukjambe Barat six houses, Pangkalan three houses, Tegalwaru 26 houses, Klari one house, Ciampel five houses, and one hall in Tirtamulya District.
