JAKARTA - Iran on Thursday held its first single military exercise since the war with Israel in June. This military exercise is to reaffirm its image of its power after suffering heavy losses.
Naval units from Iran's regular armed forces fired missiles and drones at open-air targets in the Indian Ocean in a "Resilient Strength 1404" exercise, state television reported.
"This exercise took place about a month after Iran-Russia exercises under the name Casarex 2025 which took place in the northern waters of Iran (Laut Kaspia). Sustainable Power exercises took place in southern Iranian waters", state TV said in a statement.
Israel attacked Iran in a 12-day air war that the United States had followed, hitting important nuclear installations and killing leading military commanders and nuclear scientists.
Israel largely destroyed Iran's air defenses during the war, and most of its ballistic weapons are believed to have been damaged by Israeli attacks.
Since then, the Islamic Republic of Iran has stated that it is ready to fight any attacks in the future.
"Every new adventure of the enemy will be dealt with strongly," Iran's Defense Ministry said.
