Uncertain Minister Noel Gerindra Cadre Or Not, Dasco: I'll Check Again

JAKARTA - The Daily Chair of the Gerindra Party's Central Executive Board (DPP), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, has not yet confirmed whether the Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker), Immanuel Ebenezer, or Noel, is a member of his party. However, several sources have reported that Noel is currently a Gerindra Party politician.

Dasco said his party will first check Noel's status within the party. This will allow the Gerindra DPP to decide the next steps regarding the legal case ensnaring Noel.

"I'll check again. I'll check again. I don't know yet," Dasco said at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday, August 21.

Regarding the cabinet reshuffle, Dasco believes that only President Prabowo Subianto knows. "It would be more appropriate to ask the State Secretary about this," he said.

Dasco also declined to assess Noel's performance during his time as Deputy Minister of Manpower, as he, as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, directly liaises with Manpower Minister Yassierli.

"I don't happen to interact often, and it just so happens that we've had a lot of contact with the Minister of Manpower. It's the minister who deals with that institution," Dasco said.

Although there has been no official announcement from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding Noel's status, Dasco emphasized that President Prabowo will not be selective in enforcing corruption cases.

"So, what is certain is that the president will not protect anyone. If it is proven that his aides have committed reprehensible acts," Dasco asserted.
