KPK Calls K3 Certification Extortion Happened Long Before The Wamenaker OTT

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that extortion related to work safety and health certification (K3) had been going on for a long time. Thus, the value is said to be very large.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Fitroh Rochahyanto after confirming the existence of a hand arrest operation (OTT) that ensnared the Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer on Wednesday night, August 20.

"It's been a long time so it's quite big (the value of extortion, ed)," said Fitroh when confirmed by reporters, Thursday, August 21.

Even so, Fitroh has not specified how many. While on different occasions, he said there was some evidence when the silent operation was carried out.

"What is certain is that there is money, there are dozens of cars, and there is a Ducati motorbike," he said.

Until now, Immanuel Ebenezer is still undergoing examination at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. He was secured along with ten other people.

As previously reported, President Prabowo Subianto invited the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to process the law of Wamenaker Immanuel Ebenezer who was caught OTT. The former Minister of Defense has received a report from the activity.

"Mr. President has received a report and he conveyed that it is the realm of law. He respects the process at the KPK and is welcome for the legal process to be carried out properly," said Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi to reporters, Thursday, August 21.

President Prabowo is also ready to replace Immanuel Ebenezer if he becomes a suspect. He will consider a competent figure in the future.

"If it is proven later, a replacement will be made as soon as possible," he said.
