JAKARTA - DPR Speaker Puan Maharani responded to the arrest operation (OTT) of the Deputy Minister of Manpower, Immanuel Ebenezer or Noel by the KPK.

Puan admitted that she had not heard the news because she had just finished holding the DPR plenary meeting. However, he said, his party would find out why it happened.

"Yes, I also just heard the news earlier at the plenary session, so I don't know what happened and so on," said Puan at the DPR building, Thursday, August 21.

"Because I saw the information on the news when I carried out the plenary session, so I will check first, why and what kind of process this was going on," he continued.

The KPK held an OTT and ensnared Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer on Wednesday, August 20 evening. It is suspected that extortion occurred related to the management of work safety and health certification (K3).

"(The relevant OTT, ed) is extorting companies related to the management of K3 certification," said KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, August 21.

Fitroh said the OTT was held in Jakarta. However, he has not detailed the findings of evidence or how many parties were also arrested.

The KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the status of the arrested party. The official announcement will be submitted through a press conference.
