Police Arrest KKB Members Involving The Murder Of 2 Brimob Personnel

The Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force arrested Siprianus Weya, a member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) who was involved in the murder of two Brimob personnel, Bigpol Arif Maulana and Bripda Nelson Runaki.

"It is true that we arrested the person concerned," said Head of Damai Cartenz Operations, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, Thursday, August 21.

In the murder case, Siprianus Weya acted as a documentary for the action of KKB Aibon Kogoya in the shooting incident at KM 128 Siriwo District on August 13, 2025.

The video of the group's statement of attitude was recorded using a cellphone that has now been secured as evidence, before being sent to Yosua Waker via the WhatsApp application.

Regarding the arrest process, Siprianus Weya was arrested in the Nabire area on Wednesday, August 20. In addition, five other people were also arrested.

They are, Jemi is similar, Botanus Agimbau, Meinus is similar, Yupinus Weya, and Melianus is similar.

From a series of arrests, the Damai Cartenz Ops Task Force confiscated a number of evidences in the form of jackets, nokens, cell phones, to other personal equipment.

"From the results of the examination, it is known that Siprianus Weya is a member of the KKB media section of Kodap III D Dulla, with the area of operation covering Intan Jaya Regency to Paniai Regency," he said.

Siprianus Weya was also involved in the shooting that killed two members of the National Police and confiscated two firearms belonging to the victim.

On the other hand, the Head of the Public Relations Task Force for the Damai Cartenz Ops, Kombes Yusuf Sutejo, appealed to the public not to be provoked and to maintain security in their area.

"We invite all people of Nabire Regency not to be easily influenced by misleading issues and always keep the security and social security situation conducive. Fully entrust the law enforcement process to the Cartenz Peace Ops Task Force and the police," said Yusuf.
