Violating Stay Permits, 5 Malaysian Foreigners Returned From Banda Aceh

BANDA ACEH - Banda Aceh Immigration Office Class I Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) deported five Malaysian citizens who violated their residence permit in Indonesia.

Head of the Banda Aceh Immigration Office, Gindo Ginting, said the five Malaysian citizens had passed the stay permit or overstay after their on-arrival (VOA) visa expired since July 31, 2025.

"The deportation of the five Malaysian citizens through Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport, Banda Aceh, on Wednesday (20/8) afternoon, uses commercial aircraft flights," Gindo said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 21.

The five people who were repatriated to their home country, namely the initials AM, IK, SA, MNA, and ZMY. The five foreigners violated Article 78 Paragraph (2) of Law Number 6 Year 2011 concerning immigration.

Gindo said the deportation process was directly supervised by the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section (Inteljakim) team of the Banda Aceh Immigration Office, starting from the immigration detention room to the departure process at the airport.

"During the deportation process, the Banda Aceh Immigration team coordinated with immigration checkpoints to ensure that all administrations, including the putting of departure stamps, went smoothly," he said.

The entire series of deportations, he said, runs safely, orderly, and without significant obstacles. This process shows the professionalism and readiness of Immigration officers in carrying out their duties.

"This deportation is our commitment in supervising and enforcing immigration laws in our working area. We will act on every foreign citizen who violates the provisions of the residence permit in accordance with applicable regulations," said Gindo.
