JAKARTA - KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto responded to criticism submitted by the NasDem legislator regarding the OTT of the East Kolaka Regent, Abdul Azis, after the National Working Meeting in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

Setyo emphasized that the process of determining Abdul Azis as a suspect in the RSUD project corruption case could be accounted for.

"I think it is clear, our answer is that the first time we carry out this activity is based on the information we get from the public, then from there we investigate by carrying out investigations," said Setyo at the DPR building, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 20.

From that investigation, according to Setyo, the KPK could reveal the parties who received bribes, including the East Kolaka Regent.

"This is a bribery case, there was a handover of money, there were previous gifts, there were even plans, we have revealed everything," he said.

As regulated in Article 5 of the Law, continued Setyo, the KPK carried out the process in an accountable, proportional manner, and took into account the interests of the community for the public interest.

"And I am sure that Mas Budi as the spokesman has also explained in detail what the main case looks like. Everything we can account for the process," he concluded.

Previously, in a working meeting of the KPK with Commission III of the DPR, the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR from the NasDem Faction questioned the terminology of OTT.

The reason is, in the case of the arrest of the suspect, the East Kolaka Regent, the time is not the same as the evidence of the transaction.

Member of Commission III of the DPR from the NasDem faction, Rudianto Lallo, also reminded the KPK not to look for faults in the regional head for certain interests.
