Maintain National Economic Stability, National Police Chief Ensures Smooth Food Distribution

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that he would ensure that the distribution of vital commodities, such as corn, would run smoothly. Including, avoiding fraudulent practices, hoarding, and price speculation.

The National Police is a security guarantee for farmers, business actors, and consumers, as well as strengthening national economic stability.

"Business actors have assurances that distribution channels are more organized. Meanwhile, people get access to basic needs at a more stable price," said Sigit in his statement, Tuesday, August 19.

In addition, food distribution supervision is not only a matter of law enforcement, but also part of synergy to maintain economic stability and support the achievement of Asta Cita's goals.

Sigit stated that Asta Cita is a guideline for national development policies. Therefore, synergy and collaboration of all elements of the nation are needed.

"One of Asta Cita's missions is to realize national food security, which of course can be achieved by increasing productivity and maximizing domestic agricultural potential," said Sigit.

In an effort to realize food security in Indonesia, the National Police has also carried out a law enforcement process, one of which is related to the mixed rice case.

So far, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has named a number of suspects, including the President Director of PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, Employee Gunarso, together with the Director of Operations RL and the Head of the Quality Control Section RP.

In addition, the President Director of PT PIM, AI, as the factory head, and DO, the Head of Quality Control of PT PIM, was also named a suspect.
