People's School Choir Appears At The Palace Enlivening RI's 80th Anniversary

JAKARTA - The People's School choir consisting of at least 100 students from various regions also enlivened the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Sunday, August 17.

"The choir brothers who today appeared to represent People's Schools from various regions, of course I am very proud of the performance of our younger siblings. We hope this can motivate other students," said Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf in Jakarta.

The students of the People's School will perform a song called Merdeka Day. Their performance will be carried out after the ceremony of raising the Red and White Flag by Paskibraka.

The students came from a number of public schools in various regions. A total of six People's Schools sent one representative each, namely the Senior High School (SRMA) 01 Aceh Besar (Sentra Darussa'adah Aceh), SR Integrated 9 Banjar Baru (BBPPK), 19 Kupang Junior High School (SRMP), SRMA 29 Jayapura (BBPPKS), SRMP 23 Makassar (Sentra Wirajaya Makassar), and SRMP 11 West Bandung (Sentra Wyataguna Bandung 2).

Then, SRMA 10 Jakarta (Pusdiklatbangprof), SRMA 13 Bekasi (STPL), SRMA 9 Jakarta (Sentra Mulya Jaya), and SRMA 12 Bogor (Sentra Galih Pakuan) each sent 18 students. Then, SRMP 10 Bogor (STIS Cibinong) and SRMP 6 East Jakarta (Sentra Handayani) each sent 11 students to join this choir.

One of the students of the People's School who are members of this choir is Naila (12). The daughter from Makassar had touched President Prabowo Subianto and was determined to provide quality free education for children from underprivileged families economically.

In addition, the other students who participated in this choir were Rasya and Jaka. Rasya is a student of SRMP 10 Bogor who received an invitation from Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Lt. Col. Teddy Indra Wijaya to watch the post-braka live at the Merdeka Palace at the 17 August 2025 ceremony. The invitation was conveyed by Cabinet Secretary Teddy during a visit and had a dialogue with SRMP 10 and SRMA 12 Bogor students, last Sunday (27/7).

At that time, Seskab Teddy asked about Rasya's ideals. Rasya firmly replied that he wanted to become Paskibraka because he often saw the August 17 ceremony at the Merdeka Palace through television.

Hearing this, Seskab Teddy also gave Rasya the opportunity to watch Paskibraka live at the Merdeka Palace during the August 17 Ceremony.

Meanwhile, Jaka (15) is a student of SRMA 12 Bogor. He became one of the lucky students to get the jersey of the Indonesian national team given by Seskab Teddy.

Then, there was also Erni Andayani, a student of SRMA 12 Bogor who was one of the students who wrote a letter as a form of gratitude to President Prabowo Subianto for having initiated the People's School.
